Time-stamping service is a service for issuing time stamps. Time stamps certify the existence of specific data at a specific point of time.
SK’s qualified electronic time stamps can be used in the ASIC-E or BDOC TS digital signature format, but also for time-stamping of log entries. SK’s time-stamping service is in compliance with the Internet standard RFC-3161.
Time-stamping service is a simple client-server system where a time stamp client sends a time stamp request to the service (server) to verify the time of existence of a set of data. Time-stamping service returns a digitally signed certificate that the set of data existed at a given time.
